BALANCING TRADITIONAL LEARNING WITH TOMORROW'S TECHNOLOGY

At Concordia, we believe technology is an important tool in preparing students for an ever-changing world. However, we also recognize that strong learning begins with solid foundational skills. We balance technology with traditional instruction, giving students opportunities to develop creativity, critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills. Technology enhances learning, but it does not replace reading books, writing with paper and pencil, hands-on activities, or meaningful interaction with teachers and classmates.

CLASSROOM TECHNOLOGY

Technology is thoughtfully integrated into classroom instruction to enhance learning and encourage students to explore, create, research, and collaborate. Our campus-wide wireless network, 3-D printers, interactive displays, and digital resources provide teachers with additional tools to make learning engaging and meaningful. Students learn to use technology responsibly while continuing to build essential academic skills.

ONE-TO-ONE CHROMEBOOK PROGRAM

Concordia's one-to-one Chromebook program provides students in grades K–8 with access to technology as an instructional resource. Students use Chromebooks to access digital textbooks, complete assignments, conduct research, and participate in online learning activities. 5th through 8th Grade students can also use their devices at home to access class materials and assignments.

We believe screen time should be purposeful, age-appropriate, and balanced. We are mindful of how much time students spend on devices and prioritize opportunities for handwriting, paper-and-pencil assignments, printed books, and hands-on learning. We also take student safety seriously by using appropriate security measures and safeguards on school devices, both during the school day and when students use devices at home. Our goal is to help students become responsible technology users who understand how to use digital tools safely and wisely.
